Our Story

I started out breeding Boxers but needed to leave that behind after getting married and moving into apartment living. After family life settled down living in North Carolina and Georgia we fell in love with Golden Retrievers and have cherished them ever since. Our first girl, Sheeba, produced two beautiful litters and we kept one of her males, Maxamillion. Our other girl, Brandy was never bred. Unfortunately our sons started to develop severe allergies with the multiple dogs so we needed to find two of them loving homes. This was heartbreaking for all of us. Our family decided that we would just have to take a break from breeding as our girl Sheeba was getting up in age.

After losing Sheeba we acquired our girl McLaren’s Lady Dakota. Dakota has been such a wonderful additional to our family, We pride ourselves in having our Golden's thoroughly checked for genetic conditions before any breeding is done and unfortunately Dakota’s eyes were not quite up to our standards and we don’t take any chances so we had her spayed. We moved to Minnesota a few years ago and with our sons having outgrown the bad allergies we are able to have multiple Golden's again.

We acquired McLaren’s My Lady Sasha 3 1/2 years ago and she has been a blessing. Having all of her genetic testing and now clearances taken care of at the University of Minnesota we bred her with Top Flights El Dorado “Duke” in 2018. The mating was a success and she birthed 10 beautiful pups, so we added another addition to our family - River Bluffs My Fair Lady Willow, we call her Willow. After Willow obtained all of her genetic testing and OFA clearances she was bred in March 2021 to Lish's Long Haired Country Boy Of Wm Farms (Huck) and they had
10 gorgeous pups.

Our next Golden came from Lish Kennels in Idaho her name is River Bluff's Majestic Mississippi - call name River. She is a wonderful addition to the family and her dad is Huck who we have used to stud with both Willow and Sasha. River has also been cleared on all genetic testing and has her OFA clearances and was bred in 2024 to Thistle Rocks Chevy I C U Ike (Chevy). They had 12 amazing puppies!! Unfortunately one of the little boys had a cleft pallet and had to cross over the rainbow at two days old:( River earned her CGC while 8 weeks pregnant, she is just an amazing girl. After raising her 11 pups she is now training for her Junior Hunt title.

Willow was bred for the second time in October 2022 to Thistle Rocks Sunday Prayer (Preacher) and they also had 10 beautiful puppies. We added a fourth Golden and her name is River Bluff's Field of Wild Flowers - call name Meadow. She has been a joy and is so much like her mama. Meadow has just passed the first level of CGC and is continuing on to the next level. She is also clear on all genetic testing and just waiting for her to turn two to get her hips and elbows tested - as long as they are clear she will also have all her OFA clearances. We will breed her once the hips and elbows come back clear.
