After speaking with vets, other breeders, and doing research into whether or not a puppies dew claws should be removed, River Bluff Golden Retrievers has decided that the proper development of the tendons attached to the dew claw is far more important then the possibility of injury to a dew claw so will not be removing the puppies dew claws. After further research for Golden Retrievers is it recommended that puppies not be spayed or neutered until 18 months of age to decrease the chance of certain cancers and joint diseases.
